Case Study: Willohaus - Cibus Energy
Willohaus is a major milestone for Salford and the latest chapter in Salix Homes’ commitment to delivering more high-quality, sustainable social and affordable housing. Working with Eric Wright Group, Cibus Energy played a key role in the project, coordinating the installation of 100 domestic meters and a landlord’s supply for the large development.
Willohaus comprises 100 affordable Passivhaus homes, designed to be warm, comfortable and cheaper to run – helping residents benefit from lower energy bills and healthier living environments. These homes have been designed for the future and were completed during Salford’s 100th year as a city, officially opened by the City Mayor Paul Dennett.
Cibus Energy’s Role In The WillowHaus Development
- Conducted thorough validation of all MPANs to confirm accurate registration by the DNO, ensuring full compliance ahead of meter installation.
- Identified and resolved a classification discrepancy whereby many MPANs had been incorrectly raised as commercial rather than domestic. Liaised directly with the DNO to have these rectified, proactively preventing downstream billing and metering complications.
- Collaborated closely with the client to develop a phased meter installation schedule, structured in plot-ready blocks to align with the development’s build programme and handover sequence.
- Successfully coordinated and delivered the installation of 100 domestic meters and a Landlord’s Supply in full accordance with the agreed programme, achieving practical completion on time and to the client’s satisfaction.
